Churches of Ipswich gather for Pentecost

Burlington is delighted to be joining with Christians from across the town for Pentecost 2013.

Sunday 19th May 2013, 10.30am we expect more than 2,000 people gathered on the Cornhill in Ipswich.

Guest speaker is Sandy Millar, vicar of Holy Trinity Brompton from 1985-2005 and responsible for launching worldwide Alpha Course.

Testimonies, prayer and the Ipswich Gospel Community Choir will lead the worship – special activities for children.

We are asking all the churches in Ipswich to get involved and come along on Pentecost Sunday morning. This is a great opportunity for Christians in Ipswich to be actively involved together, as an act of Christian witness.”

#CarrytheCan2013

This isn’t so much about getting the community into the church as getting the church into the community and emphasising that the Church is actively involved in the town. We are asking everyone who comes to bring one or two cans of food (soup, vegetables, etc) which will be collected and delivered to the FIND (Families in Need) Food Bank after the service. Our target is 2,500 cans.

Bring a fold-away chair, your cans, water and church banners!
