Jesse van der Valk is a friend of mine. You may feel you would like to help him. He writes as follows:
As you will be well aware, we had the awful murder of Drummer Lee Rigby in our parish of Woolwich three weeks ago. One of the rays of light in this situation was the way three ordinary women stepped forward to help Lee as he lay dying on the road. One of the woman also very tactfully confronted the killers.
I have set up a petition online to see if the three women can be awarded the George Medal, which is the highest award for civilian bravery. I am presenting the petition at 10 Downing Street next Tuesday. 81,000 people have already signed the petition.
It would mean so much to me and to the people of Woolwich, if our own friends could also sign. I am sure many of you already have. All you need to do is go to www.change.org , follow the link for the Angels of Woolwich petition, fill in a few details and click sign.
Thanks
