I find it quite haunting to think about how the footsteps of God in the garden, that had brought Adam & Eve such comfort and joy, would now bring them fear and dread. As God came looking for Adam and cried out “Where are you?” God still comes looking for us with the same cry. He wants us back. This (rather old!) song from Don Francisco captures something of this so helpfully for me.
